Injury Rehab
This is designed for people with chronic pain, recurring injuries, or recovering from an injury (but can also be used for prehab or performance improvement).
The initial consultation lasts for 80-90 minutes. This allows me to complete a very detailed assessment, ensuring we can find the root cause of your problems, as well as providing treatment.
The assessment includes:
- A full injury history dating back to birth.
- Postural assessment.
- Gait analysis/ movement pattern assessment.
- Full body joint mobility assessment.
With this information, I will provide treatment to rectify these issues, using a combination of corrective exercises and soft tissue therapy. I will also provide you with a corrective/rehabilitation plan.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of massage that involves the manipulation of soft tissue such as muscles and fascia. It is a highly effective way of reducing muscle tightness and soreness, whether caused by training for a sport or the stresses of everyday life (e.g. sitting over a laptop or phone).
During the session, we will assess your problem area, carry out the appropriate treatment and also provide a corrective/rehabilitation plan.
Modalities
Over the years, I have completed many courses which I incorporate to help my clients get the best results. However, the main systems I use are:
Anatomy in Motion (AiM) – It focuses on looking at an individual’s injury history (this includes traumas and surgeries) and assessing each joint’s movement. With this information, it re-teaches the body to move better, allowing overworked joints and tissues to relax, and joints and tissues that weren’t working properly to start functioning more effectively. This, in turn, allows the body to recover/remove pain and perform at a higher level. For more info, see the AiM page.
- Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) – It is a comprehensive mobility training system based on scientific research. The main goals of FRC are to simultaneously improve mobility, strength and body control. This is what makes it a brilliant tool for rehab and prehab, as well as improving performance. For more info, see the FRC page.
