Injury Rehab
The painful area is often just a symptom — not the real problem.
Unless there’s been direct trauma, pain is usually a sign your body is compensating for something else that isn’t functioning properly, even if that area doesn’t hurt.
To find the root cause, we’ll do a thorough assessment, which is why the first assessment is 80 minutes.
If there has been trauma, we’ll rehab the injured area and also address any compensations around it.
I’m not interested in quick fixes or chasing symptoms. I focus on long-term changes, even if short term benefits are smaller.
In Your Initial Session (80 minutes)
We’ll start with comprehensive assessment:
- Review injury history, going back to your birth – those seemingly small old injuries can cause faulty movement patterns.
- A full body joint mobility assessment and postural assessment – identify where you have restrictions.
- Gait analysis – show exactly where your movement is breaking down.
From there, I will create your custom rehab plan and start the process. Including:
- Targeted hands-on therapy to help release restriction joints and tissues.
- Corrective exercises during the session.
- A step by step long term plan including corrective exercises to be done at home daily which should only take 2-10 minutes.
Your body won’t fix itself in one session. Real change takes work. But it doesn’t require hours in the gym—just 2 to 10 minutes a day of the right exercises.
I don’t do quick fixes. I do solutions that last. So, you can move better, feel stronger, and live without pain.
Modalities
Over the years, I have completed many courses which I incorporate to help my clients get the best results. However the main systems I used are:
Anatomy in Motion (AiM) – it focuses on looking at an individual’s injury history (this includes traumas and surgeries) and assessing each joint’s movement. With this information, it then looks at re-teaching the body to move better and thereby getting over-worked joints and tissues to relax, and joints and tissues that weren’t working properly to start working harder/better. This in turn, allows the body to recover/remove pain and perform at a higher level. For more info, see the AiM page.
- Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) – it is a comprehensive mobility training system based on scientific research. The main goals of FRC are to simultaneously improve mobility, strength and body control. This is what makes it a brilliant tool for rehab and prehab, as well as improving performance. For more info, see the FRC page.
Who This Is Not For
I don’t want you to be disappointed. So, if you are looking for any of the following, you might be happier finding another therapist:
🚫 A quick fix.
🚫 A therapist who will do all the work while you stay passive (if you don’t want to put any effort into yourself).
🚫 Someone who only wants the painful area to be treated without looking at root causes (the exception to this rule is if you have had direct trauma, i.e. you have knee pain because someone tackled you high in football. In this case, I might only focus on the area causing pain).
Please note, I now only work with male clients aged between 20-55 years old. If you do not fall in
