Injury Rehab
This is designed for people with chronic pain, reoccurring injury or recovering from an injury. But can also be used for prehab.
The initial consultation will last for 90 minutes. This allows me to complete a very detailed assessment ensuring we can find the root cause of your problems, as well as providing treatment.
The assessment includes:
– Full injury history dating back to birth.
– Postural Assessment.
– Gait analysis/ movement pattern assessment – using Anatomy in Motion (AiM)*.
– Joint Mobility – using Functional Range Conditioning (FRC)*.
With this information I will provide treatment to rectify your issues, using a combination of corrective exercises and soft tissue therapy. I will also provide you with a corrective/rehabilitation plan.
* Details of these techniques can be found below.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of massage that involves the manipulation of soft tissue such as muscles and fascia. It is a highly effective way of reducing muscle tightness and soreness, whether caused by training for a sport or stresses of everyday life i.e. sitting over a laptop or phone.
During the session, we will assess your problem area, carry out the appropriate treatment and also provide a corrective/rehabilitation plan.
Anatomy in Motion (AiM)
AiM focuses on looking at an individual’s injury history (this includes traumas and surgeries) and assessing each joint’s movement. With this information, it then looks at re-teaching the body to move better and thereby getting over-worked joints and tissues to relax, and joints and tissues that weren’t working properly to start working harder/better. Thereby giving the body more, and usually better, options to move. This in turn, allows the body to recover/remove pain and perform at a higher level.
For more info, see the AiM page.
Functional Range Condition (FRC)
FRC is a comprehensive mobility training system based on scientific research. The main goals of FRC are to simultaneously improve mobility, strength and body control. This is what makes it a brilliant tool for rehab and prehab, as well as improving performance.
For more info, see the FRC page.
